Tee Hee!

I'm in Hackettstown, NJ. I'm 69.4 miles from home. How about that?

Woohoo! Just spoke to Matt. He sounds tired but happy.

I found some quotes in honor of this epic voyage:

The bicycle, the bicycle surely, should always be the vehicle of novelists and poets. ~Christopher Morley

When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

Get a bicycle. You will not regret it if you live. ~Mark Twain

Think of bicycles as rideable art that can just about save the world. ~Grant Petersen

Matt, you did it, you lived your dream and you raised so much important money that will do its part to save the world in some way. Congratulations.

How awesome!!! Seems like the last part of your trip was so much easier all around than the first part.

Enjoy your homecoming. And let your family (especially your mom) treat you like it's a big deal. CAUSE IT IS!!!!

:-)

Matt!

Congrats! What an accomplishment! I am not sure if I will be back in Larchmont to see you arrive tomorrow - I'm up in Boston retrieving my car after just finishing a move down to Stamford - but DEFINITELY get in touch once you settle back in. Congratulations again!

And now that you've come too far to turn back, let me just tell you a few things.

1. Mom and dad have a new cat. She is cute but vicious. Enjoy.

2. Raleigh and I are coming down to see you Saturday morning. The wookie will get you.

Congratulations, Matt. Take it slow over the GWB and up the Boston Post Road...

He made it! He rolled onto our street at around 2pm. He looks great!

He'll be posting more, I'm sure.

Hooray!!! You made it safe and sound! MAJOR congrats! This is something you will remember the rest of your life, in ways I don't think you can probably conceive of right now even. :-) Give yourself a huge pat on the back for me! I very much look forward to seeing your pics and hearing any reflections you may have in the coming days!
